We’re looking for a Backend API Developer to join our small, high-impact engineering team. This is a hands-on individual contributor role, focused on building and scaling APIs and backend systems that form the backbone of our platform.

What You’ll Do

• Design, build, and optimize high-performance APIs and backend services using Python and FastAPI.

• Solve challenges around scalability, performance, and data flow in a distributed system.

• Collaborate with data engineering and frontend teams to deliver efficient, reliable APIs that power client-facing applications.

• Work with AWS and Azure to design resilient, cloud-native architectures.

• Use and optimize PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, and Elasticsearch for query performance and data storage.

• Build observability into everything you ship — ensuring APIs are secure, scalable, and measurable.

• Contribute to system design discussions, code reviews, and performance tuning initiatives.

Required Skills and Experience

• 3–7 years of experience in backend development, preferably in Python.

• Strong experience with FastAPI.

• Solid understanding of asynchronous programming, REST APIs, and microservice architectures.

• Proficiency with SQL and relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred); experience with ClickHouse or Elasticsearch is a plus.

• Experience working on performance optimization, API scalability, and data-heavy systems.

• Familiarity with AWS or Azure cloud services and Docker/Kubernetes.

• Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems.

• A mindset focused on clean code, reliability, and end-to-end ownership.
